MONTREAL, November 25, 2016 – Judith Fetzer, president and co-founder of Cook it—the Montreal-based meal kit company—will benefit from the advice of Alain Bouchard, renowned businessman and founder of Couche-Tard, as part of the Adopte Inc. project. The young entrepreneur was chosen by Alain Bouchard among Adopte Inc.’s 25 finalists.

 “I desperately wanted to be paired with Alain Bouchard from Couche-Tard. He’s the mentor I’ve always dreamed of. I’ve been wanting to meet him for years to talk business and now, I’ll get to see him on a regular basis to discussour projects,” says Judith Fetzer, co-founder of Cook it.

“My wish and goal are to add some value to Cook it. In the 25-finalist list of the Adopte Inc. contest, Judith and her company truly stood out because of her energy and vision,” explains Alain Bouchard.

This mentorship is made possible thanks to the Adopte Inc. contest, which aims to provide financial and strategic help to young entrepreneurs with a $24,000 grant and business mentorship. Among 425 applicants, Judith Fetzer was selected among 425 applicants, and only five of them were eligible to receive personalized guidance over the following year. The “adoption” choice was completely up to the program’s five mentors.

Created in 2014, Cook it is Canada’s first ready-to-cook meal kit company. The start-up has known phenomenal growth. Its revenues went from $92,000 to $3,000,000 in less than 18 months. 2016 is proving to be a major turning point for Cook it, with an appearance on Dragon’s Den, a new mentorshipand important revamp of the company’s business model, from single orders to a subscription-based model. Today, Cook it has over 1,000 subscribers.

Alain Bouchard is the founder and CEO of Alimentation Couche-Tard, a leading independent convenience store chain. Operating under the brands Couche-Tard, Mac’s and Circle K, the company’s North American network counts more than 6,100 stores. Mr. Bouchard has over 40 years of experience in the retail industry.
