Judith Fetzer, co-founder of Cook it, is named female entrepreneur of the year by Canadian Business and Maclean’s
MONTREAL, October 15, 2021 – Cook it, Quebec leader in the meal kit industry, is proud to announce its co-founder and president, Judith Fetzer, was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the virtual Growth 2020 gala presented by Canadian Business and Maclean’s magazine. Every year, this gala showcases Canadian entrepreneurs based on the tremendous growth of their business revenue.
“This prize is an incredible surprise and a huge honour. I want to thank the entire Cook it team, with whom I share this award. Cook it is, first and foremost, a family story. Only six years ago, we were three employees. Today, our team is made up of more than 700 employees who help make meal time easier for families. I am extremely grateful for the support we receive from our customers. The last few months have been extremely challenging, but this award confirms that having put people at the heart of our decisions since our very beginnings was the right thing to do,” said the recipient.
Judith Fetzer stood out from the other contenders thanks to her strategic and agile management that really propelled Cook it in just a few years of operating. In 2016, after only two years in business, Cook it had managed to triple its sales. In 2020, the president and co-founder knew how to reorganize and solidify her company to face the exponential increase in demand and the labour shortage caused by the pandemic. Under her leadership, the introduction of employee-aimed initiatives and the quick hiring of new talents allowed for the sales revenue to skyrocket.
