1. SetupThinly slice the lettuce and pickle. Chop the onion. Cut the slices of cheese in 4.
2. Cook the beefHeat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Make 3 small patties of beef per person. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. Add to the hot skillet and cook 4-6 minutes on each side. Turn off the heat, add cheese to each patty, cover and let melt for 2-3 minutes.
3. Steam the bunsFill the bottom of a pot with water and bring to a boil. Place a colander with parchment paper over the pot of boiling water. Steam the Bao buns covered for 3-4 minutes or until hot and soft. The loaves should not touch the water.
4. Plate your dishTop the Bao buns with a beef patty, pickle slices, lettuce, onion and sauce. Serve with the chips. Bon appétit!
