Maple French Toast Bake

with pears and walnuts

1. Setup Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the pears into small cubes. Chop the nuts. Tear the bread into medium-sized pieces, or cut into cubes.
2. Mix the bread Mix the bread with the milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Grease a baking dish or an ovenproof skillet and add the bread mixture.
3. Mix the pears Mix the pears with the walnuts and a third of the maple syrup. Add the pears on the bread.
4. Bake in the oven Bake the French toast casserole in the oven for 24-28 minutes.
5. Prepare the icing Meanwhile, mix the icing sugar with another third of the maple syrup and 1-2 tbsp. of water.
6. Plate your dish Serve the French toast casserole and top with the icing and remaining maple syrup. Bon appétit!
