January is here with its short days and biting cold, but we won’t let that get us down! It’s the perfect time to try new recipes to warm your heart. At Cook it, we understand the need to indulge while eating balanced meals. Every week, I select my favorites from our 16 ready-to-cook recipes to include in my box. Follow me to discover the dishes that have won over my foodie’s heart and promise to warm up your taste buds this winter.

Tofu Parmigiana with parsley pasta, tomato sauce and mushrooms

Try our Tofu Parmigiana, a stunning vegetarian twist on the classic Chicken Parmigiana. Coated in Italian spices and panko breadcrumbs, the tofu becomes crispy and flavorful, perfectly golden. It’s topped with a rich tomato sauce and grana padano cheese. This dish is served with spaghetti mixed with sautéed mushrooms and fresh parsley. I think it’s one of my favorite Cook it tofu recipes. Ideal for tofu lovers and those looking to try it, this Tofu Parmigiana is a family-friendly recipe that will please everyone. Don’t wait any longer to try this recipe and enjoy a vegetarian dish that promises to make a splash at your table. Guaranteed success with both kids and adults

Shakshuka eggs cooked in a tomato and bell pepper sauce with cilantro, feta and ciabatta

Indulge in Shakshuka, a mesmerizing dish with Maghrebian origins, blending simplicity with exotic flavors. This traditional dish consists of eggs delicately poached in a rich tomato sauce with bell peppers. In our version, the Shakshuka is elevated with crumbled feta cheese and fresh coriander, bringing a touch of freshness and a tasty contrast to the sauce’s warmth. Served with crunchy ciabatta bread, the Shakshuka is perfect for soaking up every delicious drop of the sauce, making each bite utterly delightful. This versatile dish is ideal for a hearty brunch or a light supper, and its quick preparation makes it a perfect choice for an easy yet impressive meal.

Chicken drumsticks with BBQ sauce with creamy coleslaw and fries

Even as a chef, I enjoy simple recipes that evoke delectable childhood memories. This week, I’m delighted to share a simple, comforting recipe  that is close to my heart: BBQ chicken drumsticks accompanied by creamy coleslaw and crispy baked fries. The chicken drumsticks are coated in a blend of seasonings: paprika, powdered mustard, and onion powder. This combination creates a taste reminiscent of traditional rotisserie cooking. This classic dish is a tribute to warm family meals and simple yet comforting flavors. It promises to delight all those who, like me, cherish memories of convivial and delicious meals. I hope you will enjoy cooking and savoring it as much as I do.

Every time I complete my selection of Cook it ready-to-cook meals, I always make sure to visit the Pantry section. It’s an essential step because my chosen products are directly added to my delivery box. This trick helps me complete my meals for the week and saves me from grocery shopping – a task that, between us, I find one of the least enjoyable in the world, haha! Let me reveal some of my favorite products I almost systematically include in my weekly order.

First, the Grande-Miche campagnarde bread from Première Moisson is a must-have. I particularly appreciate its versatility: it’s just as delicious toasted in the morning as in a sandwich for lunch or transformed into garlic bread for dinner. Its generous size is ideal; when I don’t use the whole loaf, I freeze it and simply take out the slices I need as I go along. Next, I can’t resist the box of 12 firm marbled cheeses from La Chaudière cheese factory. As a big cheese lover and a snacking enthusiast, these cheeses are a real treasure. They’re perfect for snacking throughout the day. Finally, the Clementine sparkling probiotic sodas from LOOP are a recent but already indispensable discovery. After being charmed by their delicious juices, I had the pleasure of tasting these probiotic sodas. They are not only delicious but also refreshing. The grapefruit flavor is also one of my favorites. That’s it for my Pantry favorites for this week. I hope you find as much pleasure in discovering these products as I do. I wish you a delicious and gourmet week.
